Valuation Notice Instructions

field_block:node:page:body

The county assessor is responsible for notifying all property owners of the estimated market value and classification of their property through an annual notice. This valuation notice must be mailed at least 10 calendar days before the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization or “open book” meeting and must contain specific information about the assessor’s office, appeal meetings, and the property itself.

For 2024, the County Board of Appeal and Equalization may convene on any day after Friday, June 14. For more information, go to Section 4 of the Valuation Notice Instructions.

County assessors must use the following instructions and format for preparing Notices of Valuation and Classification. Please read these instructions carefully to make sure your county is in compliance with the law.
