Fraud alert: Inheritance scam

Individuals in Minnesota and Sweden have contacted the Department of Revenue about emails they have received, purportedly from the department, informing them of unclaimed property in the name of a distant, deceased relative.

These emails were not generated by the department or by any other state government agency. If you have any more questions, please contact the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center at 612-376-3200 or visit www.IC3.gov.
